Palestine, now occupied and named Israel, lies on the western edge of Asia. Lebanon and Syria borders Palestine on the north, the Mediterranean sea to the west, to the south by the Gulf of Aqaba and the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, and to the east by the Kingdom of Jordan. A Mediterranean climate prevails in Palestine. Summers are hot and dry. Winters are rainy and cold. The weather in Gaza is fair and warm in winter, and hot and dry in the summer. The average temperature in the West Bank in the summer is 29 degrees Celsius, in winter it is 12 degrees Celsius.

Demonstrators call on Arab leaders to free Palestinians in Gaza.
Around two million Yemenis took part last Saturday in the largest demonstration ever held in Sana’a.

The demonstration was organized by the General People’s Congress (GPC) and other civil organizations led by the Kana’an organization in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

All schools from Sana’a and neighboring districts of the capital took part in the demonstration that was held in al-Sabeen Square in the south of the city.

yemen march in support of gaza

This was the third demonstration in Sana’a since the start of the Israeli aggressions and siege against Gaza.

The organizers of Saturday’s protest called on Arab and Islamic nations to declare clear and practical stands in support of the Palestinian people, demanding that an urgent summit be held in an attempt to rescue the Palestinians from the tyranny and brutality of the Zionist entity and to adopt deterrent steps against the aggression.

Many speeches were delivered during the demonstration by representatives of civil organizations, both male and female. The speeches were concluded by the Assistant Secretary General for Political and External Relations of the GPC, Sultan al-Barakani, while the statement of the demonstrators was read by Jamal al-Khawlani, head of the GPC in Sana’a.

Only one edit window! How do I create "Read more..."? PDF Print E-mail

This is now implemented by inserting a Read more... tag (the button is located below the editor area) a dotted line appears in the edited text showing the split location for the Read more.... A new Plugin takes care of the rest.

It is worth mentioning that this does not have a negative effect on migrated data from older sites. The new implementation is fully backward compatible.

What is the FTP layer for? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator

The FTP Layer allows file operations (such as installing Extensions or updating the main configuration file) without having to make all the folders and files writable. This has been an issue on Linux and other Unix based platforms in respect of file permissions. This makes the site admin's life a lot easier and increases security of the site.

You can check the write status of relevent folders by going to ''Help->System Info" and then in the sub-menu to "Directory Permissions". With the FTP Layer enabled even if all directories are red, Joomla! will operate smoothly.

NOTE: the FTP layer is not required on a Windows host/server.
